Another artist who traveled to Tunisia for the Djerbahood Project (coverage here) was the Brooklyn-based Swoon (interviewed). She joined the long list of artists invited by Galerie Itinerrance to beautify the North African island. Working with her distinctive imagery and the village architecture, she certainly put up some compelling pieces for the locals to enjoy. After putting in her time on this project, she returned home to learn that she was nominated for the Smithsonian Biennial James Dicke Contemporary Artist Prize.
